June President’s PRoclaimer Message

It’s already June and that just doesn’t seem possible. I hope the year has been good and you’ve gotten value out of your FPRA membership this year.
Our board has worked hard to deliver for you and it’s been an honor to work alongside everyone in service to the chapter. We’ve had incredible engagement this year and it’s exciting to see what lies ahead.
This month is our second co-sponsored event with PRSA, Media Mashup. This year we’re going to hear the backstory of Universal’s Epic Universe opening, insights from expert panels on AI and media, as well as the networking with local media representatives.
Get your tickets now before they’re all gone.
We also opened up nominations for new board members and I would encourage everyone to get engaged and begin working your plan for serving in a leadership role. Ali Beemer is leading this effort and you should have revived an email with links to board job descriptions and a form to fill out. If you have any questions, please reach out to Ali or me. The deadline is June 20.
We also have a number of awards the chapter bestows on members every year. The Roger Pynn Award for Career Excellence, ImPRess Award for Professional Achievement, Member of the Year, Dr. Bob Davis “Unsung Hero” Award, and Intern of the Year. The application will be out this week and the deadline is June 30.
All of this culminates at our board installation and awards event July 31, at Dubsdread.
And don’t forget to register for the FPRA PR & Comms Summit, August 3-6 at Rosen Shingle Creek right here in Orlando. As the host community, I’m looking forward to seeing a great showing by our chapter.
My last thought is for you to take time to find balance in life and pour into the things that give you joy. Every day, I look for something that helps me grow in what I am pursuing right now. The most rewarding of these activities usually comes in the form of connecting with the people I know excel in those things. Our relationships are the foundation of our success so invest in them daily.
